The Auberge de la Meije, accommodation and restaurant is the ideal place to discover the mountain environment and to share great moments with family or friends.

In the warm atmosphere of the bright dining room or on the terrace, enjoy our home-made dishes prepared with local, organic and seasonal products.
Stéphanie prepares a balanced and healthy traditional family-style cuisine but also enriched by travels.
The bar and restaurant are open for lunch and dinner for both guests and visitors.
Our food products
The choice of our raw materials food and suppliers are very important to us.
Our local supply extends from the hostel surroundings to the Isère, Drôme, Savoie and Hautes-Alpes departments borders.
Local products are not necessarily labelled as “organic”, but we know our producers!

The terrace and sunbathing area
You get inside the hostel by the terrace, which is furnished with colour furniture.
Rooms
The hostel has 22 rooms on 2 floors that accommodate from 2 up to 5 people. 3 rooms have double beds and 2 are ideal for families of up to 5 people.
The hostel welcomes particulars and also groups.
Rooms have a washbasin, showers and toilets are on the landing...
Sheets and towels provided.
Le petit déjeuner
The French-style breakfast consists of toast with jams made in a cauldron, hot and cold drinks, fresh or stewed fruit, dried fruit or granola bread and sometimes a brioche, everything is home-made!

The summer lunch menu is snack-style: cochonaille, farm cheeses, salads...
Delicious fresh homemade pasta with sauce.
Le soir...
On the evening, we sugest menu of auberge (starter, main course, dessert) or à la carte dishes (local specialities, fresh pasta), plates of cheese or delicatessen.
Our producers and suppliers
Our cheeses come from Jérôme Guillemette's farm (Oisans and Isère), fishes from Charles Murgat Isère fish farm, the meat from Isère and Drôme, walnut oil, apple vinegar and a few groceries (lentils, eggs, fruit juices, etc.)
Vincent from “Agrumbio” selects the organic fruit and vegetables at the Grenoble wholesale market and delivers them straight away.
Philippe Rodriguez from Vino Melody, advises us on the wine selection.
Our beers come from local craft breweries as the Brasserie du Dauphiné (draft beers), the Brasserie du Habert and Brasserie de l'Oisans (bottled beers).
We don't suggest any more industrial sodas. We prefer present traditional soft drink like limonade, local fruits juice, sparkling water and mountain drinkable water.
For ice cream we work with Glaces des Alpes located in Annecy, it's a master factory for local ice cream.
The fresh and the local organic grocery products are from “Mangez Bio Isère”. Senfas, AquiBio, are our organic bulk providers.

Next to the dining room, the intimate lounge has sofas and cosy armchairs that invite you to take a break after your day trip or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the place.

Our project
The Auberge de la Meije is a place dedicated to the knowledge and the protection of the mountain, as well as the practice of mountain sport.
As a base camp or a holiday accommodation, the auberge is a welcoming place, to recharge your batteries before or after a race, to get information, to meet people.. to enjoy the mountain!
We welcome all public with the aim of raising awareness, sharing knowledge about, the mountain environment and heritage preservation.
A high environmental quality setting and accommodation, good quality food, and the practice of mountain activities and/or well-being.
Our wish is to teach as many people as possible the respect and knowledge of the mountain environment and the good activity practices in the mountain.
Whatever your level and the activity you want to do, whether you are a die-hard or a first-timer, we will share with you:
- Respectful use of the mountain
- The knowledge of the mountain risks and dangers
- A healthy, varied and tasty diet
- Getting in touch with nature and our inner nature
- The awareness of the environment fragility
- The discovery of historic, cultural, pastoral heritage...
So that all of us can become an ambassador of the mountain environment preservation.
